My name is Ruslan (Ross Fuel), I am an independent self-taught artist from Jerusalem. I’m 27 and made aliyah from Baku, Azerbaijan at 2009. I would like to tell you a bit about myself and my art.
So.. One day I woke up with a single thought: “Start learning to draw,” and with an unbearable desire to postpone everything I was doing at that time. I bought a course and immersed myself in the process, honing my skills day by day.
My style is something between abstract and pop art, and is characterized by bright, bold colors, impulsive strokes and juicy drippings. My works are a visual version of movement and energy, it’s my way to convey my love for dancing through a completely different, partly even opposite, introversive type of art. I don’t limit my creativity to one material, and use anything that can help me visualize my idea – from acrylic paints and spray to book pages and textile.
I am inspired by travel, different cultures and new experiences: whether it is a hike in the mountains, a shamanic ceremony, a music festival, a theatrical performance or just communication with interesting and positive people. And also movement, movement, movement…
A significant part of my works was created during performances with the participation of dancers and movement artists.
I take part in and produce exhibitions, this year I took part at exhibitions in Israel and Europe:
1. “Music & Art Exhibition”, group exhibition of toung artists at Jerusalem, Israel
2. “The Creator Voice calling over the Walls”, group exhibition of young artist at Jerusalem, Israel
3. “The Dance of the Brush”, solo-exhibition at Jerusalem, Israel
